Product Condition & Grading Policy

At Jensen Cards, we aim to provide accurate and transparent information about the condition of the trading cards and collectible products we sell.

Because collectible products can vary in condition and may contain manufacturing or packaging imperfections, this policy explains the terminology we use and how product condition is assessed.

Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts, or limits any rights or remedies available to consumers under the Australian Consumer Law.

1. Product Condition

The condition of a product will generally be described on the relevant product page.

Depending on the product, descriptions may include terms such as:

• New

• Factory Sealed

• Near Mint

• Lightly Played

• Moderately Played

• Heavily Played

• Damaged

• Graded

• Ungraded / Raw

Condition descriptions may vary depending on the type of collectible being sold.

2. New Products

Products described as New are products that have not been previously sold or used by a customer and are supplied in the condition reasonably expected for a new product.

New products may still contain minor manufacturing or packaging imperfections that occurred during production, handling, or transportation.

3. Factory-Sealed Products

Products described as Factory Sealed are intended to be supplied in their original manufacturer packaging and sealed condition.

Examples may include:

• Booster boxes

• Booster packs

• Elite Trainer Boxes

• Collection boxes

• Tins

• Special sets

• Other sealed collectible products

Minor imperfections to external packaging, such as small dents, scratches, creases, or variations in shrink wrap, may occur during manufacturing, handling, or transportation.

Such minor imperfections do not automatically mean that the contents of a sealed product are defective.

4. Raw / Ungraded Cards

A raw or ungraded card is a card that has not been professionally graded by a third-party grading company.

The condition of raw cards may be described using commonly recognised collecting terminology.

Near Mint (NM)

A Near Mint card is generally expected to have minimal visible wear and a clean overall appearance.

Minor manufacturing characteristics may be present.

Lightly Played (LP)

A Lightly Played card may show minor signs of handling or wear that are visible upon closer inspection.

Moderately Played (MP)

A Moderately Played card may show noticeable handling or surface wear while remaining identifiable and collectible.

Heavily Played (HP)

A Heavily Played card may have substantial visible wear, whitening, scratches, bends, or other signs of handling.

Damaged

A Damaged card may have significant defects or damage that materially affects its appearance or condition.

The exact condition of an individual card will depend on the characteristics visible on the product and the description provided on the relevant listing.

5. Manufacturing Imperfections

Trading cards can contain imperfections resulting from the manufacturing process.

These may include:

• Slight centring variations

• Minor print lines

• Small print defects

• Minor edge whitening

• Minor surface imperfections

• Cutting variations

• Colour variations

• Packaging variations

The presence of a manufacturing characteristic does not automatically mean that a product is defective.

Where a material issue affects the product's conformity with its description or an applicable consumer guarantee, your rights under Australian Consumer Law remain unaffected.

6. Product Photographs

Product photographs displayed on our website may be:

• Manufacturer-provided images

• Representative product images

• Photographs of the actual product

Where an image is representative rather than a photograph of the exact item being sold, this may be indicated on the relevant product listing.

Colours and visual details may also appear slightly different depending on your device or display settings.

7. Individual Cards

Where an individual card is being sold, the product description will provide relevant information about its condition where applicable.

For high-value or particularly condition-sensitive cards, additional photographs or condition information may be provided on the product page.

Customers should review the product description and available photographs before purchasing.

8. Graded Cards

A graded card is a card that has been evaluated and encapsulated by an independent third-party grading company.

The grade assigned to a card is determined by the relevant grading company according to its own grading standards and procedures.

Jensen Cards does not independently determine or guarantee the grade assigned by a third-party grading company.

9. Grading Companies

Graded products may originate from recognised third-party grading companies.

The relevant grading company and grade will be identified in the product listing where applicable.

Examples may include grading companies such as:

• PSA

• Beckett / BGS

• CGC

• Other recognised grading companies

The specific grading company used will depend on the individual product.

Jensen Cards does not imply an official affiliation, endorsement, or partnership with a grading company unless expressly stated.

10. Grading and Future Value

A third-party grade reflects the grading company's assessment of the card's condition according to its grading standards.

Jensen Cards does not guarantee that:

• A graded card will receive the same grade if re-submitted

• A grading company will maintain the same grading standards in the future

• A card will increase in value

• A card will retain a particular market value

Any discussion of collectible value, rarity, investment potential, or future prices is informational only and is not a guarantee of future value.

11. Graded Card Slabs

The encapsulation case or slab of a graded card may have minor cosmetic imperfections resulting from manufacturing, handling, or transportation.

Examples may include minor scratches, scuffs, or other superficial marks.

Such cosmetic imperfections do not necessarily indicate damage to the card inside the slab.

If a graded product arrives with significant damage, please contact us promptly so that we can assess the matter.

12. Authenticity

Jensen Cards aims to sell authentic trading cards and collectible products.

We do not knowingly sell counterfeit products.

If you believe that a product purchased from us may not be authentic, please contact us immediately and provide your order information and any relevant evidence.

We will investigate the matter and provide an appropriate response in accordance with applicable law.

13. Product Descriptions

We aim to ensure that product descriptions accurately represent the products being offered.

Customers should review:

• Product title

• Product description

• Condition information

• Product photographs

• Quantity

• Edition or set information

• Grading information

• Release status

• Pre-order status

before completing their purchase.

14. Condition and Returns

Condition-related concerns are assessed based on the condition represented in the product listing and the circumstances of the individual case.

If you believe a product you received is materially different from its description, damaged, defective, or otherwise does not meet an applicable consumer guarantee, please contact us.

Your rights under Australian Consumer Law remain unaffected.

15. Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in this Product Condition & Grading Policy excludes, restricts, or modifies any rights or remedies available under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth) and the Australian Consumer Law.

Where a product does not meet an applicable consumer guarantee, customers may have rights to a repair, replacement, refund, or other remedy depending on the circumstances.
